This West Highland Railway Line connects Fort William and Mallaig. It was a crucial artery for the local fishing industry and the highlands economy in general, which suffered after the Highland Clearances of the 1800s. The line is used nowadays by passenger trains, including the heritage Jacobite steam train which acquired fame as the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter movies.
