"Inviting Solitude" Magnet

$10.00

Looking through the door to a hidden room with fern-covered walls and a solitary chair in Iona Abbey on the Isle of Iona, Scotland, UK

I happened upon this out of the way room as sunlight was pouring in throughout the abbey, including through a solitary window in this small space. The kaleidoscopic hues come from an authentic interplay between the natural light and the varied textures of the mineral and moss-stained stone walls, as well as the granite floor.

The wall ferns grew inside the room while this 13th century abbey was without a roof. When the roof was replaced, the ferns continued to grow. Today, Iona Abbey is the spiritual home of the Iona Community, an ecumenical Christian religious order, whose headquarters are in Glasgow. It’s also a pilgrimage destination for those seeking spiritual solitude.

Each magnet is made with a 2”x3” (approx.) giclée print with a photo image on the front side and a title and description on the back side. The print is then affixed between two pieces of acrylic so that both the front and back sides can be seen. Four quality magnets are positioned at the corners of each piece of acrylic for added magnetic strength.
