The Port Washington, WI 1860 Light Station basks in the sunrise while overlooking Lake Michigan and the pierhead light
In 1849, a light tower was erected on top the north bluff overlooking downtown. Re-built in 1860, the historic light station includes the lighthouse with lantern room atop the modified school house design and keeper’s living quarters.
The Port Washington Breakwater Light on the lake below was completed in 1935 at a cost of around $38,000. The metal Art Deco tower rests on a twenty-foot-square cement base that has large arches on each of its faces so it does not obstruct the view of mariners using the harbor.
Each magnet is made with a 2”x3” (approx.) giclée print with a photo image on the front side and a title and description on the back side. The print is then affixed between two pieces of acrylic so that both the front and back sides can be seen. Four quality magnets are positioned at the corners of each piece of acrylic for added magnetic strength.
