"Cold Edge of Twilight" Magnet

$10.00

The newly renovated Port Washington pierhead light shines under a full supermoon

The warmth of this scene is deceiving as the sun is still above the horizon and shining on the upper part of the pierhead or breakwater light. The light is seen here, however, accompanied by the full “Cold Moon” (also the last supermoon of 2025). This full moon is so named due to its arrival every year in the cold of December.

The Port Washington Breakwater Light was completed in 1935 at a cost of around $38,000. The metal Art Deco tower rests on a twenty-foot-square cement base that has large arches on each of its faces so it does not obstruct the view of mariners using the harbor.

Each magnet is made with a 2”x3” (approx.) giclée print with a photo image on the front side and a title and description on the back side. The print is then affixed between two pieces of acrylic so that both the front and back sides can be seen. Four quality magnets are positioned at the corners of each piece of acrylic for added magnetic strength.
