"Bridge over a Daughter's Tears" Magnet

$10.00

The Black Cuillin Mountains with Old Sligachan Bridge in the foreground at Sligachan, Isle of Skye, Scotland, UK

This bridge has an enchanting legend that originates from a faerie-blessed, bitter battle between Scottish warrior woman, Scáthach, and Irish hero, Cú Chulainn. Scáthach was challenged by Cú Chulainn, resulting in a fight so intense it shook the surrounding valley and lasted for weeks. Scáthach's daughter, Uathach, upset by the fighting, ran to the river and was advised by faeries to wash her face in the water to find a solution. The daughter prepared a massive, aromatic feast for the warriors, leading them to break bread together and vow a truce, ending the battle. It is said that because of the beauty of Scáthachs daughter and her tears of love being poured into the river, any who are brave enough to dip their face into the waters beneath Sligachan Bridge for 7 seconds will be granted eternal beauty.

Each magnet is made with a 2”x3” (approx.) giclée print with a photo image on the front side and a title and description on the back side. The print is then affixed between two pieces of acrylic so that both the front and back sides can be seen. Four quality magnets are positioned at the corners of each piece of acrylic for added magnetic strength.
